Q. How much is the application fee?
A: Application fee is $40.00 per person
Q. Do I need a Co-Signor?
A: If you are a full-time student, you need to have a Co-Signor to apply for the apartment. Each person on the lease has to fill out an application and has to have a Co-Signor.
Q: How long is the lease term?
A: All the leases are 12 months. Leases start June 1 and end May 31st.
Q: How much is the deposit?
A: The deposit is equal to one month’s rent.
Q: What are the utilities included in the monthly rent?
A: Utilities are not included except for trash pick up and snow removal.
Q: Are pets allowed?
A: Only at The Mill at White Clay Creek Apartments. If you decide to have a pet you have to pay a $250.00 deposit ($100.00 is not refundable) and there is a monthly fee of $25.00 per pet.
Q: Do you lease by the bedroom or by the property?
A: We lease by the property only. It means that everyone on the lease will be jointly liable for the lease.
Q: How far are you from campus?
A: All of our apartment complexes are very close to The University of Delaware Campus. It is approximately a 5 to 15 minute walk to the center of campus, depending on which apartment complex you are walking from.
Q: Can we sublease our apartment for the summer?
A: We do not allow subleasing.
Q: When is rent due?
A: Rent is always due the first of the month. There is a five-day grace period. Rent is late after the fifth of the month.
Q: How much is the late fee after the five day grace period?
A: The late fee is 5% of the total amount of rent.
Q: Can we each send separate checks for our rent?
A: No, as per all of our lease agreements, each apartment must submit one check each month for rent.
Q: What is Tenant’s Insurance and why do I need to obtain it?
A: As mandated in each lease, we require that every tenant be covered under a Tenant’s Insurance Policy. This is to insure your personal belongings, and also to protect us and our commercial tenants from any property damage. We are happy to refer local agencies upon request.
